Cold hands and feet can be a symptom of hypothyroidism-- your thyroid is kind of like your body's thermostat, and if it's not getting enough thyroid hormone, you can feel cold. Also, skin can become dry; hands, feet and face can become puffy; you may feel more tired than usual; hair may thin (incl. on arms and legs); and may have mood swings. I know, because I had all those symptoms! When my thyroid was fixed up, I was suddenly warm again.
But another thought is Raynaud's sydrome, which is generally limited to the hands. My mother was bothered by it-- if she went out in the cold without gloves, her hands would get purple, and feel terribly cold. I have another friend who developed a bit of that after radiation therapy for cancer.

That doesn't address your post.
What does, is that many of us suffer from social phobias.
We are very concerned about pleasing those whom we meet --- yet our hands are cold. That's because we're "nervous". Your body responds to those nerves which will transmit a "cold, clammy" feel.
I've been through this many times before. I know what "cold, clammy" hands would feel like to those whom I would shake hands with.
You are presenting, at once, both a medical and psychriatic concern.
Those of us, on this forum, are not qulaified (unless we are physicians) to address this.
There are both medical and psychiatric remedies available to you. Might I suggest that you consult either your family practice doctor, or a psychiatrist to address this issue?

Thank God, I am retired now, but went through the the same thing for years. No amount of sweaters helped me. All they would do would be to make my torso sweat, while my hands remained cold. I finally started bringing a small ceramic heater to work and kept it on under my desk for as much of the day as needed. Just be careful you use a heater that is safe.
