Well it could be a number of things that is a very old car and carbuerated could be a bad carb mabye a bad fuel pump and a number of electrical problems water in the gas tank or in the block or the engine just might be wore out that is a very old car with mabye over 150k miles could just be old go to an autozone and have them put the car on a computer that should tell you whats wrong with it

It has an automatic fuel shutoff. The Chevrolet S10 does not use a inertia fuel shut down switch, that's a Ford thing.
