If a 1997 Ford Aerostar surges when low cruising the throttle body may need to be cleaned. There could also be a lose hose or one that needs repairing.
If the Aerostar is not set for auto lock when the vehicle is put into gear, check the door lock, switch. Also check the lock relay and wiring for a possible short.
No, that would be a hurricane.
On your 1992 FORD TRUCK AEROSTAR 4WD, the NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH is: UNDER VEHICLE, CENTER, BELOW SEATING AREA, MOUNTED ON DRIVER SIDE OF TRANSMISSION info obtained from www.autozone.com
Could be just worn out. This vehicle is 12 years old. I would replace all the vacuum hoses, if you haven't done so before.
I would like to help you. But you need to define the word SURGES. and I need more info. Talk to me NEUTZ
i would say they are good for the type of vehicle, I have a '93 disco and easily get 30 mpg and most of it is rural with very little cruising.
All my information tells me Ford stopped using the 4 cylinder engines for Aerostars in 1987 so you would have the 3.0 or 4.0 6 cylinder engine.
A 1993 Ford Aerostar would have come from the factory with ( 5W-30 )
That would be 21 gallons.
That would more then likely be the EGR VALVE
I would recommend cruising eBay to see what you can find.
the radiotor or the cams
