Why would my 1999 Forester rear window washer motor run does not spray water?

First, check the front/rear wiper reservoir under the hood. Next, check that the front sprayers are working. If all the above is working/okay, check the rear hose fittings inside the rear door and the rear nozzle. I would suspect the rear hose linkage to the under hood (front) reservoir/pump is clogged/broken.
Operating the washers in near-freezing temperatures can cause the nozzle to freeze, but the pump under the hood to continue an attempt at spraying despite a frozen rear nozzle.

Open hood, look to make sure you have water in the water container, If not add water. if you have water in the container, Then get back in car and start washer motor with switch, listen for motor noise, if no washer motor noise then you have no power to the motor, check fuse. if your washer motor starts then inspect the water lines to the window spray nozzles, starting at water container to fire wall. if all is good then they should work. the only other thing I can think of is the filter on the end of the pick up line in the water container is clogged with dirt. Please be more specific with your problem. Is the sprayhead stopped up with sediment? Does the wiper not work? What? There is no washer pump in the rear window. It is nothing more than a spray head that is connected by tubing to the same underhood washer pump that supplies the front windshield sprayers.

A couple things to check. If you don't hear the washer fluid motor running when you try to spray washer fluid, it may be a fuse or relay or bad washer fluid motor. If you do hear the washer fluid motor running while trying to spray the windshield, but aren't getting any fluid, then there is a blockage or kink in the line. If this is the case, you can unhook the hose at the sprayers underneath on the hood/cowl and blow back through the line to see. It should blow air right back into the washer reservoir. If not, then check the lines for blocks/kinks.
