TRY TURNING THE KEY OVER.
One way to know that a control arm bushing is bad on a Chevy Malibu is from the noises you will hear when you are driving. You will hear a clunking sound. The steering on the car will also not be as good as it once was. You could also experience drifting of the car as you drive.
To fix an oil leak in a 96 astro, first you need to find the leak. Clean the engine thoroughly at a car wash. Watch the engine daily for signs of the oil leak. Once the basic area is found then the process of fixing the leak can begin.
Broken hose? Leak at radiator? Leak at water pump? Defective thermostat? Pressure test system to try to determine source of leak
I would be suspicious of the bulbs you're using.
The interior bulbs on a 1999 Chevy Malibu are contained in a plastic fixture whose cover snaps open. Once inside the fixture, pop out the dead bulb and replace it with the appropriate replacement.
my car smells like i have a petrol leak when i turn it on but have no leak underneath the car
vacuum leak. my 95 Monte Carlo did it. once in a while it would race to 2500 rpm then settle down like normal. not easy to find , but a cheap fix.
look for the leak once you find it you will know were the leak is have a great day =)
It will be alot cheaper to go to a repair shop and have them scan it for codes than to guess and spend money on parts you do NOT need.
Push the brake pedal three times. Then turn the headlights on and off quickly. Fart once and then clap. Radio fixed!
It depends on the year of the car, what engine, and driving style. I have a 2006 Malibu with the v6, and on the highway, I have gottem 50-60 miles and still made to a station, and then in town made it 35 more miles then it died right in front of the station.
You can change it without removing gas tank But it is tucked under the gas tank and is much easier to replace once the tank is dropped..
These lights have 2 different "lights" in each of them. This occurs frequently. Change out the bulb and everything will be working fine once again.
I wouldn't even use it once, get the problem fixed.
Once it gets low on coolant because of the leak, absolutely. The leak by itself won't make it overheat if it's a small leak and your coolant level doesn't get low. If you DO have a leaking freeze plug, it WILL get worse, and probably rapidly. Also, if one freeze plug has rusted through and started leaking, you should replace ALL of them because the others probably aren't far behind.
you will need to remove all of the bolts first, once that's done lift straight up. Be careful though. its only plastic and if you break something its not going to be cheap.
Assuming you have the floor pedal type, you push it down farther and it releases and comes back up. Ie. push it once to lock it, push it again to release it.
I have a Malibu wakesetter and we lost the D bolt once before because the safety catch came off. Just go to your local Malibu dealer and they can order them in for you
possible vacume leak in the egr valve or bad valve itself.
My ex-boyfriend for sure
The flasher is part of the hazard switch and they are replaced as a unit. Remove the trim piece from the dash. This is attached with screws in some places and press fit in others. Once the trim is loose it is a simple matter to replace the switch.
CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT Make sure you don't have air in the hoses!! You may also need so flush your radiator. Sometimes it gets clogged and wont allow water to circulate. But can usually tell this before hand as it will overheat then cool down continously as the junk tends to break loose once in a while.
Hey Ed==It is different in different parts of the country. I would call SEVERAL local shops and dealerships and see what they say. Goodluck Joe $1700. in NYC I once got an estimate for $1200 in Dallas TX Its probably cheaper to get it replaced at a junk yard
First thing that comes to mind is a vacuum leak. check all hoses, gaskets(carb and manifold)
