When checking alternator on my 1995 linclon mark 8 the voltage runs from 8 volts to 14.3 volts and back down to 8 volts.?
If the engine is idling when you hit 8 V, it's probably ok, but if the regulator cannot maintain 14.3 V, you probably need to either rebuild the alternator or get a new one.

Could be a whole lot of things like, vacuum leak, bad plugs, bad plug wires, bad power pack or packs, cam sensor.

Yes , on my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT there is a cold fill mark . When the engine is cold the coolant level should be up to the mark
