A few areas come to mind. Motor mounts make sure they're tight. Otherwise, this is the classic sign the transmission is about to die. Check the fluid level and leaks. Have the trans evaluated and serviced. Keep in mind if you've been driving this way for a while then changing the fluid could kill the transmission instantly. If this a Toyota Camry it may be possible the ac compressor is responsible. (depends on the configuration) Good luck!
Thx for the answer. Will change the whole gear. Already gone case I suppose.
If this is an automatic transmission, more than likely the transmission is on it's way to the junkyard. Usually failing transmissions lose reverse first, then the higher forward gears - last will be the lowest forward gears.
What would cause the 1995 Nissan Pathfinder not to go in forward or reverse?
Automatic or manual?
The forward clutch pack are brunt up needs rebuilding
I had my 00 eclipse gt automatic do this. took it to mr transmition and they cleared codes that popped up and it stopped. if i drove forward for a while and warmed the car up, then reverse would work. hope this helps.
Have you ever changed the fluid and filter in the transmission? If not, that's the first thing you should try.
the letter d
its in nutreal reverse pr out of gear
Shift linkages not put in the correct spots.
Having it on "PARKING"
The tranny is broke.
Most likely your transmission needs replaced.
