Depending on the type of car/truck, carburetor/injected, gas/diesel.... I would look at fuel filter, linkage, fouled plugs, totally dirty air cleaner. Those are the easiest items to check from there electronics, timing is way off, vacuum issues, fuel pump etc.
Plugged up/dirty fuel filter
A modern car's gas tank is designed to have pressure in it. If it does not have pressure, the car could stall. That is one way to keep gasoline from evaporating into the atmosphere.
water in gas tank
The most common reason for a car to stall is a lack of fuel. The gas tank could be empty or the fuel injectors. Need to be cleaned.
gas can't freeze
Does it stall at idle, just after you start up? Does it stall when you give it gas - or take your foot off of the gas? Does it stall at stoplights, stopsigns, etc? Does it stall when the engine is hot or cold or warm? I would love to try and help, but you've gotta give me something to work off of!
It can.
Running out of gas, timing chain breaks.
An engine will stall when you give it gas if it does not have the correct mixture of fuel and air. This is controlled by the carburetor or throttle body and may need adjustment.
yes
My car has done the same thing and i found that old gas was the only problem
I would suspect a lack of fuel pressure, replace fuel filter, check fuel pump.
you got to give it gas so you can take of and then it wont stall
