Because Bethlehem was the birthplace of Jesus. Jesus was the reincarnation of Moses and many more prophets in the past. However, Mecca is equally as important because Mecca was the birthplace of Mohammed and Mohammed was the reincarnation of Jesus. The Awareness [conscious mind] of Mohammed is the same Awareness [conscious mind] of not only of Jesus but many prophets in the distant past. Reincarnation is controlled by another Dimension and that dimension is where our Awarness [conscious mind] originates.
