That would tend to indicate that the alternator was not charging the battery for that interval.
The choke light came on in my 1984 Celebrity when the alternator belt broke thus not charging the battery. Replacing the belt caused the choke light to go out. Since then I have noticed that whenever the alternator is not putting out enough voltage the choke light comes on.
The battery light comes on when the charging system voltage drops below 12V. If your light is on all the time, have your charging system checked because it probably is not charging the sytem.
Alternator isn't charging enough soon batt will die from undercharging
You need to be more specific. What year is your Chevy Celebrity and is it on the front or rear of the car?
Check
On the inside of the trunk where the light comes through, you'll find 4 big round plastic nuts that you unscrew. The whole light unit comes out once those are removed.
I have looked at many Celebrities in the junk yard and have never seen one. Even more rare is the hood light which I found off a Pontiac 6000. Yes. I drive an 85 Celebrity and it has a trunk light and a hood light, both of which are original. The trunk light only comes on when tapped, however.
More the likely the alternator has quite working are the belt / belts have broken on the front of the engine.
battery light on means system is not charging, usually a defective alternator.go to advanced auto or auto zone they will diag it for free.
Battery drain would depend on what else is on, for example headlights, courtesy lights, glove box light etcetra. If there is nothing electrical on then there should be no drain.
You probably have an alternator with bad diodesl have it checked, it is probably going out. Get that fixed first then see if the choke light goes out too.
the battery light means that your battery is being charged properly. so let it light.
