Why would the check engine light of a 1995 Hyundai Elantra 1.6 come on when driving but go out if you hit a bump?

Most likely the cause is a loose wire somewhere in the car's wiring harness related to the computer system that operates all of the sensors that operate on the car's engine. I had a 95 Elantra, love it went great, cheap on gas. Butone day the check engine light came on and then never left. It was always on, no apparent problems though then and 3 month later the car took fire. Total loss. Dont know if related but that's my story....
