The MIL (or check engine light) indicates there is a problem with your fuel injection, ignition, emmisions or engine and a DTC (or diagnostic trouble code) has been stored. Your best bet is to pull the codes to find out why the light is on. This is the only way you will correctly identify and fix the problem.
