Your AC works off the engine's electrics and is very power hungry, therefore the amount going in to charge the battery is reduced, it also makes the engine work harder so it gets hotter - if all is maintained well there should be no problems, but make sure you don't spend all day driving slowly !

What causes lights heater fans to dim or slow down with the motor running?

Weak battery not holding a full charge or alternator not supplying a suffient charge to the battery - check with a voltmeter A fully charged battery should read approx. 12.8 without engine running Approx. 13.8-14.2 with engine running

Can my car start with a recharged battery if my alternator is bad?

Yes, the battery starts the engine, and as long as the battery is fully charged the engine will start. The battery will loose it's charge if the alternator is defective and not replenishing the charge of the battery but the alternator has nothing to do with starting the engine.

Why on 93 ford explorer would voltage go down on when switching gears?

Could be a weak battery. As you change gears you drop engine revs, which slows alternator, which decreases the current flow to the battery. If the battery is weak or in a low state of charge lights will dim accordingly.

Does any one know why a 95 Nissan pick-up 2.4 would charge the battery at low rpms but when going down the road the alternator does not charge The belt is tight and the battery does hold a charge?

ask a mechanic.

When do the anodes and cathodes affect the voltage of a battery?

The anodes and cathodes affect the voltage of the battery all the time. Without them, the battery would not work. The anode provides the positive charge or current. The cathode provides the negative charge or electrons. Part of the anode is down in the battery and part serves as a terminal. Part of the cathode is down in the battery and part serves a a terminal.

How do you charge a boat battery?

The same way you charge a car battery. The only difference in them is that the marine battery is a deep cycle battery, meaning it is designed to be run completely down without damaging the battery. Ideally you need a charger designed to charge deep cycle batteries but you can charge one with a normal battery charger.

Would a bad alternator cause a car to die while driving?

If the alternator fails, it is no longer keeping the battery charged and your engine is running on nothing but battery power. Once the battery runs down, your engine will no longer run.

What is the formal term for low battery?

In much of the world, flat is the word of choice for a battery which is nearly used up. A more correct term would be 'exhausted'. Weak, used up, run-down are all acceptable terms. 'Dead' can be vague when referring to a battery. It can mean a battery that will not accept a charge, or will not retain a charge, or a battery that is completely exhausted but would still be functional if charged.

How does it effect a battery to drain it?

Every time you run an automobile battery down, you cut the life of the battery. These batteries are not designed to be run down. They are designed to hold a charge continuously. Run the battery down three or four times and you will ruin the battery.

How to enlarge samsung battery?

Dodge van shuts off when you slow down and put the brakes on?

Couple possible things. I had a bad battery that wouldn't hold enough of a charge to run the engine when you stopped (because the engine wouldn't be running fast enough to charge it). Or, idle air control valve.
