1 3 4 2 is firing order
Depends on how long the car was running. Let the car run for an hour at idle and if it never comes on, I would check the fan. It should come on at sometime. Check the relay..............I just had this problem on my '89 Beretta. DoratheExplorer

The 1983-89 Nissan Pulsar with the 1.5 1.6 & 1.8 engine have a cam belt. The belt must be replaced at 60,000 miles. Warning: All of these engines are Interference engines. If the belt breaks, serious engine damage will occur.
Low coolant? Radiator plugged or restricted? Water pump not circulating coolant? Cooling fan not working? Thermostat not opening? Cooling system airbound?
you have a shorting wire someplace
If the idle is constantly high, I would adjust the idle control on the left hand side (facing the car) of the throttle control body.
