The fan on your Pulsar may stop running due to a fuse not functioning properly. The electrical wiring may also be damaged.
change the headlight retraction switch on the right side of the odometer cluster, it did the trick for me!

Depends on how long the car was running. Let the car run for an hour at idle and if it never comes on, I would check the fan. It should come on at sometime. Check the relay..............I just had this problem on my '89 Beretta. DoratheExplorer

you have a shorting wire someplace
Low coolant? Radiator plugged or restricted? Water pump not circulating coolant? Cooling fan not working? Thermostat not opening? Cooling system airbound?
If the idle is constantly high, I would adjust the idle control on the left hand side (facing the car) of the throttle control body.
