Apparently the crown vics are known for having faulty headlite switches and also the headlite circuit breakers can be bad as well
AnswerIf they are going on and off it's diffenetly the headlight switch. What it's doing is when you turn on the headlights the switch heats up and causes a break in the circuit so this causes them to go on and off. I'm not sure the year of your crown vic but if it has the daytime running light switch then the headlight switch will be about $60.00 at the auto parts store.Edit 521: There is also a lighting control module above the OBD connector under the dash that sometimes fails due to a broken solder joint inside on the board at one of the relays. This will cause the headlights to intermittently switch on and off as the joint heats and cools, making and breaking contact. (You can usually hear the clicking when it cuts on or off)
It could also be a faulty sensor if you have automatic headlights.
the 4way mutil.switch. Headlights. turn sig. wiper washer. I was not the lcm.
It usually means that there is either a short in the circuit or the breaker is faulty.
Yes.
Possible headlight switch.
Need model year and engine info. The Crown Victoria has been around on and off since 1955.
Pull off the battery cables and replace
There are two oxygen sensors on a 1989 Crown Victoria. One is located on each of the exhaust pipes coming off the exhaust manifold.
Follow the wires. Have to take off the covers first.
On a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria : The air suspension switch is in the trunk , on the drivers side ( there should be a label beside the switch )
The manual switch good for being able to park with the lights off and the engine running. The automatic function can help to keep you from forgetting to turn on the headlights in an area where street lighting is good.
your multi function switch is more and likely going bad
Had the same problem. Exchange the LCM (Lighting Control Module), which is located under the steering column, togehter with the Mulitifunction Switch (turning lights, wiper control lever). This will stop the headlight problem, but I have some other difficulties with my lights - have a look at: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/2003-crown-vic-police,-headlights-shut-off-while-in-opera-vt90501.html
