If it is the low coolant light, it may mean your coolant is low. If it is not low, it may be the low coolant light sensor malfunctioning.
It is the radiator warning light. Usually it indicates low radiator fluid level. I have had this come on when I have had some minor radiator leaks leading to radiator coolant level going down.

Any fluid would cause the fluid low light to come on in a Chevy cavalier. Fluids such as brake line fluid, power steering, transmission, and quite possibly oil. Everything but gas, grease and radiator fluid. Get her checked out at any large garage. They should take a glance for free. Do it soon though. The item may burn up and you will have to get a new part.
It is normal for a temperature light to come on in the VW Jetta when the car is started. If the light stays on, it is probably an early warning that there is something wrong with the radiator. This light indicates that the car is low on wiper fluid. To refill the wiper fluid resovuoir pop the hood and pour washer fluid in the clear tank. Note: not all cars have a wiper fluid warning light since not having any wiper fluid isn't a big deal.
