it may be your air intake flow hose it may have an escape and doesn't allow the vehicle to get the right amount of air flow into the engine it may also cause the car to run rough and jerk as it shifts

There has actually been a recall on the 98 intrigues because of the rear seat belts. They have a tendency to twist as they are pulled into the automatic retractor, causing the retractor to seize up. Had the same problem with mine. All I did was slowly pull the seatbelts a little at a time. When they would stop, I'd let it back in again to unlock the retractor, then try again.
