it may be your air intake flow hose it may have an escape and doesn't allow the vehicle to get the right amount of air flow into the engine it may also cause the car to run rough and jerk as it shifts
What does 'service engine soon' light mean on a 1998 olds intrigue?
In the low side ac service port.
hard fault code What is a hard fault code?
The meaning of a dashboard warning light on an Oldsmobile Intrigue could be a variety of things. There are different lights for different things for different years of that model. It could be a service engine, check oil, sensor check, or more. The owners manual should have a listing of warning lights included in it.
5W30 is appropriate and recommended for all but the most severe service in North American GM cars, 1999 model year.
Usually caused by a bad ABS sensor or wiring harness to the sensor. Both are serviced with a hub-bearing assembly.
Any problem with the car that affects its emissions will cause the light to come on and stay on until the problem has been fixed. (There are literally dozens of possible causes.)
Take it to a service dealer for diagnosis and fix.
There has actually been a recall on the 98 intrigues because of the rear seat belts. They have a tendency to twist as they are pulled into the automatic retractor, causing the retractor to seize up. Had the same problem with mine. All I did was slowly pull the seatbelts a little at a time. When they would stop, I'd let it back in again to unlock the retractor, then try again. Took some patience and time, but eventually got them out.As for the recall, I think if you go into your local Oldsmobile dealership service center, they'll install guides that prevent the seat belts from twisting.See: http://www.automotix.net/autorepair/recalls/oldsmobile-intrigue/
It should, as they both receive their signals from the BCM, but even the dealer service department is not 100% sure.

DIY - about $200 for a used one from a junkyard and a couple hours of your time. A dealer would probably charge $1000 or more. An auto service place will be somewhere inbetween. One problem is copper prices have driven up radiators, even at the junkyards.
