yes you can and you must have on right or starter will bind up
Starters can fail over time, or a broken tooth on the flywheel could be causing a bind. If the starter is failing over and over and is an aftermarket type, then it may be necessary to change back to a factory starter replacement.

maybe a loose ground to the starter or the bend-ix may be in a bind with the flywheel
you probably have a bind the burning smell is probably the wire going to your starter you need to find out what it is, try tightening the starter then replace if need be
Maybe a bad starter. Try starting it cold then shut it off before the engine gets warm and see if it starts back up. If so the starter could be in a bind from the heat the engine puts off metal expands when hot and contracts when cold. Repacing the starter might solve the problem.

For S to make a covalent bond, it would be best to bind it to another non metal. Once such element would be H, thus making the S-H bond which is covalent. Another example would be to bind it to another S, making the disulfide bond, S-S which is also covalent.
you might try to move your steering wheel at the same time you are turning the key in the ingition. The lock mechanism might be in a bind.
Check the Battery cable from the starter solenoid down to the starter Ford takes alot of power and if the cable is bad it won't start. also make sure that the starter is not in a bind so that the drive gear is hanging up. hope this helps.
bind meant when two men in the same battalion would get lonely and would decide to weld there penis' togeter with copper so that they could not be seperated even when they died
