this has happened because you havent been moisterising your ponies feet before hacking and training.
you could try these:
good luck!
in the little crack on the bottom of their hoof that constantly needs to be cleaned out
To clean a Shetland pony's hooves you will need a hoof pick and possibly some water. You'll need to pick each hoof up and use the hoof pick to 'flick' the mud out, remember ponies are sensitive around the frog of the hooves, so you shouldn't use the hoof pick by scraping the mud out towards you. To pick up a front hoof, stand facing your ponies tail and run your hand down (this tells them what you're about to do) from your pony's shoulder to the hoof, as you get to the hoof say 'up' and pull the pony's hoof up. When you are cleaning it you'll probably need to hold the hoof with one hand. To pick up a back hoof, again you stand facing your pony's tail and run your hand down the back of the ponies leg. Lift the hoof up towards you. Some ponies will kick out at this point so be careful. You may want to wet the hoof to loosen any hard mud and make it easier to get out. If you have never done this before I'd recommend that you ask someone experienced in this to help you the first couple of times. Always be aware that a pony may get spooked or frightened when this is being done and may kick out.
Big Brown has what is known as a quarter crack in his left front hoof. Quarter cracks are fairly common in horses. Hoof care specialist Ian McKinley actually wired the crack shut with stainless steel sutures, (like stitches).
using cornercrescene or a oof hardening cream!

Your horses feet are cracking because of lack of moisture. You should go to your local tack store and get Hoof Heal it restores natural oils in the hoof. Hope this helps! :)
Usually because of a lack of moisture, if you live in a dry area, then applying hoof oil / creme would be the best way to prevent cracking. Also rough or hard ground, and uneven hoof trimming.. or lack of hoof trimming. (uneven as in one foot trimmed shorter than the other). or rotating of the coffinbone <-- if that might be the cause, then call a farrier or vet emmediately.
If a horses hoof splits open (Called a crack.) you should call a farrier and have him come out to trim and repair the hoof. It will likely take weeks and maybe even months for the hoof to grow out properly and it must be cared for properly.
I bet u r trying 2 pass riding level 5 on Howrse.I think the answer is Sand crack and bruised solethis question is not used on howrse anymoreContracted foot and sand crack, I think.....i am believing it is bruised soleIt's either sand crack or contracted hoof.Probably, the contracted hoof, the hive and the sand crack, but if you are wanting this answer from Howrse, you should probably try it with and without the sandcrack, but I'm kiinda sure that the contracted hoof is one of them!
Bacteria can enter a crack or wound in the animal's foot, be it in the hoof bone or the space between the hooves, and start to multiply, creating an infection. This infection can cause the hoof to "rot" if not treated with antibiotics and penicillin as soon as possible.
hoof hoot hooves
A crack in the frog of a horse foot is pretty normal. Nothing to work much about unless the horse is lame in which case a vet and /or farrier should be consulted.
