In production you cannot possibly be all things to all people. Therefore it is best practice to find the niche' in the market and be exemplary in the production of a small group of products - This make the marking more positive and can IS more profitable than making masses of different products. Added to this is the cost of the training of staff, machinery needed, specialist skills for each product type, maintenance costs and of course space required to undertake the task.

Why did factory owners need capital?

Because 'capital' is the money that can be used to produce more wealth, i.e. profit. The goal of the factory owners in the 19th century was the same as of today's factory owners. They want to become rich, of course. If they have capital, they can invest some part of it to make their business (shop, factory) larger and to make their factories more productive by buying newer and newer machines which produce more products in a shorter period of time. Of course the factory owners have to pay the costs of the production (energy, raw material, shipping expenses, wages for workers, taxes). The remaining amount of money is their profit.

Why is specialization of labor important?

I used this response for economics...... Specialization is important in the operation of a market because everyone wants thing but in the highest quality for they're usage. A person that makes many things would probably get more business but a specialist would get the most sales from that one item that they can make. These specialist will then be able to sell and trade with other people for the things that they want.

Factory Installed GPS or aftermarket?

I would personally choose to purchase a GPS system that is sold individually. This way I can mount it wherever I want and choose the GPS I want. Getting a factory installed GPS does not allow you these options.
