Why would your 1991 Chevy Lumina 3.1L V6 Run Fine for an hour or so before stalling out and not starting till after it has sat for an hour or so we've replaced many parts?

ecm electronic control module.
Could also be fuel injectors going bad. Remove the connectors to the 6 injectors and test across the injector with an ohm meter. Should be about 12 ohms. Readings around 6 or less will start showing your symptoms and should be replaced. If you plan to keep the car and it is in good shape other than this issue, I would recommend replacing them all to save time later. If one is failing, the others aren't far behind.

Hard starting, stalling and eventually it simply will not run. Change the filter before assuming the pump is bad.

A bad distributor will cause stalling in all cars, not just maximas But there alot of other things that can cause stalling to dirty fuel filter - electrical short - dirty injectors - etc. Have a mechanic put it on a diagnostic machine before you invest in a distributor.

THE ANSWER TO MY OWN QUESTION TURNED OUT TO BE A LOOSE WIRE MELTING INTO THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. AS SOON AS IT WAS TIED AWAY IT STARTED WORKING JUST FINE!

first check your battery voltage and if good usually the fuel injection selenoid is suspect(hard starting ,surge, hesitation and stalling)
