Normal thrust is the regular reaction to force when the tectonic plates are shifting. Normal thrust does not cause earthquakes.

Braking distance between a motorcycle and car?

Ultimate braking distance is similar for a car and motorcycle, but it requires a lot of skill to do it on a motorcycle. Comparing an average motorcycle to an average car driver, the car will stop faster. (whoever said that braking on a motorbike is an idiot i have a motor bike and am very good on it and ever since i got my bike i have been able to break its simple!!! just like on a normal bike)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong when shifting to second gear makes noise but shifting to other gears are normal?

Synchronizer maybe. not sure if that's how you spell it. I grind a little downshifting into second but not when shifting into any other gears. A mechanic buddy told me that's probably what it was.

Try replacing the oil pressure switch located behind the distributor just before the firewall, about $30 at autozone

How serious of a problem is a ABS light on a 96 ford truck?

That indicates that a malfunction has been detected with the anti-lock braking system , but if the " brake " light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " braking ( it could be anything from a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem )

Certainly, all four wheel brakes are used in normal stopping. However, the lions share of the stopping power is from the front brakes, yes.

What causes the brakes to pulse on a 06 1500 two wheel drive Chevy?

ABS. The Automatic Braking System will cause the brake to pulsate when braking in hard conditions and on slick surfaces. This is a normal condition it is the result of you vehicles ABS system working properly

Does downforce affect braking?

Yes, downforce aids in vehicle braking by providing more normal load to the tires without additional mass that needs to be accelerated (braking being acceleration in the negative longitudinal direction). This additional normal load allows a larger braking torque to be applied by the braking system without locking the tires. In many race cars, the driver has to apply successively less pressure on the brake pedal as the car slows down not to lock the tires. This is a result of less downforce (and therefore less normal load on the tires) as speed decreases (note that downforce scales with the square of speed, so 1/4 speed means 1/16 downforce). Another benefit of aerodynamics packages in braking comes from the drag that is created, which also helps to slow the car. Open wheeled race cars create enough drag at top speed to brake at 1G by just letting off the gas pedal. Total braking acceleration can be as high as 5.5G for this type of vehicle, mainly due to the effects of downforce and drag.
