Please give more info. IE: Can the car be started immediately after it dies or does it take a few min? How often does this happen? Is it affected by hot or cold weather conditions? Have you checked the gas cap (loosened it) for vapor locks?
the problem may be that the timing chain or belt has broken

Some things that can cause a car to stall while driving it include a bad fuel pump, running out of gas, and low fuel pressure. A clogged catalytic converter can also cause this to happen.
Its going bad.
crankshaft position censor
It probably means that the computer has stored a "FAULT" code. Plug in a code scanner and find out what the computer thinks is wrong.
