He is still nervous of you. It will take him a little while to get used to you and your presence. Gently pet him and talk to him and he will get used to you and eventually will come to you happily.
AnswerWhen we first got our piggy it hid from us also. We let it hide. It would come out when we gave it Timothy hay or romaine lettuce. Gradually we would pet it through the wires of the cage then eventually we got him out to hold him. When we first held him we put a towel on our lap and let him just sit in it. Eventually he started to come out on his own and crawled into our long hair at the nape of our necks. We have had him about two months now and he squeels whenever he hears me. Even if I am in another part of the house he will squeel for me to come and pick him up or feed him. He nibbles my lips and cuddles in my hair. Just give your piggy time and when you approach him talk to him in a soft voice. If you talk "baby talk" to him he will squeel with the sound of your voice. Try to feed him treats at the same time of the day and he will learn to expect you!
