It is very cowardly and they are too scared to do either and just hope this will go away - very sad. Don't give him the satisfaction of chasing him or worrying about it move on, leave him in the past and start dating again. Keep your distance from him and if he tries to contact you again - don't give him the time of day. You deserve better.
