Queen Mary of Teck. She was born on May 26, 1867 in London. Her full name was Victoria Mary of Teck, but on request from her husband she shortened it to Mary. She was nicknamed "May" in the Royal family. She got engaged to Prince Albert Victor on December 1891 but he died about a month and a half after that. She got close to Prince George during their shared mourning and he proposed to her in May 1893. They were married on July 6. She was very close to George and their marraige was a great success. She died on March 24, 1953 from Lung Cancer. Three of her children died before she did, and she lived through the reigns of six British Monarchs (Victoria, Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII, George VI, Elizabeth II).
