Wife started our 1994 Chrysler Concorde this morning and drove it to the gas station it would not restart sputtered and then started then stopped turns over but nothing else?

same thing happened to my 98 ram. identical. only i was 35 miles out in the country. turned out to be the intank fuel filter. cost me $643.00 parts and labor plus a
@245.00 tow from country. the pump is not all that hard to change, but when it goes out, the computerr goes krazy and has to be reset also, so i was told.
