If the recommended size is 225/70-16 then no this would not be a good substitute.
i have a tire this size its 205/55/R16
A 225 75R 16 tire will fit on a 245 75R 16 rim. The only difference between the tires is the height of the sidewall.
yes and it wont rub
Fit? Yes it will fit, but know that your speedometer will read 58.8 at a true 60 mph if the 235/75-16 is the OEM tire. You will also have a very slight loss of towing power. My advice is to always stick with the OEM size that was designed for your ride.

Yes they will.
Yes, they will fit.
I have 245/75/R16 10 ply Vista's on mine 17"rims. They don't rub and they set off the vehicle better.
it will fit but the tire is wider and is taller in diameter. Your speedometer will be off.
That information should be on the drivers door, or wherever the manufacturing label was put. You should also be able to check the owners manual or call the dealership. Depending on you model, the size will be 225/75 R16 or 245/70 R16. Both will fit the 16x7" wheel.
Yes - The difference is the 70 is a lower profile or less height.
245 75 r16 are the biggest without adding spacers. They might rub a tiny bit when your tire is completely turned. your speedometer will be off by 2 miles per hour at 65 mph.
