If they are installed on the factory wheels, 285/75R16 will touch the upper control arm or the spring travel bump stop when the wheels are turned to the extreme end of travel. To most guys in our neck of the woods, this is a minor inconvenience.

I got a 2003 Chevy silverado 4x4 z71 stock suspension , and i install on it 285/75r16 tires, that's the biggest tire that you can use, i put that tire size to in a 2002 Chevy silverado work truck 4x2, with no problems. You can trust, good luck.
ive seen a set of 285/75R16s on a similar year but it looked awful close to rubbing the fender and bumper

If it 4x4 you need to crank the torsion bars so no rubbing happens but you can easily put 285/70R17
