it cam if cam gear falls/snaps off but it is not a interferance motor
Timing chain
You can't because the timing is controlled by the engine computer.
Maybe.........Maybe Not. There are a lot of variables here. Like, what were you doing when it broke? High Revving the engine?? Normal driving?? Take it to a competent mechanic in your neighborhood.
8 Degrees BTDC----- Before Top Dead Center
If it is a vortec engine, then there is no timing ajustment. It's controlled by the computer
To be assured of a long engine life change timimg belt a least every 120,000 miles. If it where mine it would be changed at 90,000 to 1000,000 miles at minimum. Toyo joe
is the chysler town&country an interface engine 2.4 dohc
Need more info like the year and engine size.
NO belt in the 302cid engine of a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis. it is a chain with gears
timimg belt must be changed every 50,000 km
I would think not. The timimg belt correctly times the ignition to allow the engine to run. No spark would have to be a problem in the primary or secondary ignition system componets. However a broken timing belt would not allow the input of ignition componets due to lack of rotation.
I would like to know if you have to lift the engine up in order to change the sprokets on 2006 Nissan Maxima?
