Not for free, no. You must purchase an entirely new disk.
Microsoft does not, and never has, made 'recovery' or 'restore' CDs- only Windows install disks. Dell, Compaq, Gateway, etc. are the makers of the "Recovery' and 'Restore' CDs. They do this because it's cheaper than buying a liscense for XP and giving you XP with every PC. It also requires you to get a new CD from them- for a price- and thus locks you in for your repair options.
Also, Microsoft may have discontinued windows XP by now. I'm not sure. Can someone else give some info on if M$ will still take purchases for XP? I know last year they announced 7 and said XP would be discontinued when 7 came out

You should already have the restore disk. When most computer manufactures send you a computer, they send the operating system disks and driver disks with the new computer. If you didn't get those disks, contact Toshiba. If you don't get the disks, just download a Windows XP iso and an activation crack from isohunt.com.

If you have "make a restore point" on then no problem. Just reboot, boot in restore mode and choose restore point to load. If you don't have the disk and you don't have a saved copy of the CD on your hard drives there is no way to that. If your version is legal you can claim to the manufacture to send you the disk.

.dmg, .iso, are a couple of them. They are a digital version, exact copy's, of CD/DVDs as an example. Instead of having a physical copy of a CS/DVD and having to carry it around, you can change it into an exact digital copy of the disk and then send it electronically to who ever needs it. If you buy a product from say, Apple or Microsoft, they can send you a disk image instead of the physical DVD. Most company's are going that way.
