unscrew it. take it off.
First you will need to loosen the large outer axle nut (counter-clockwise) with a wrench and back it all the way off until it's off the axle threads completely. Keeping the ATV in a low gear should be plenty to keep the axle from spinning while turning the wrench, but you may need to have someone apply the rear brakes while doing this. I think it's not enough space for me to explain this in here. visit the URL below for more details.
There are many different ways you can tell if the rear axle has gone out on a Yamaha 350 ATV. If there is a grinding sound or a slipping when trying to put the vehicle in gear, those may be an indication of this issue.
remove the axle nut on the side with the brake hub...and pull threw the other side....very simple
a ford 9" rear bolts right intrust me i did it it came out great
all blasters are interchangeable not true in 2003 the added hydro brakes and a new hood. the axle will fit tho but . most of the parts are interchangable execpt the rear axle and carrier and the breaks and hood
You need to use a 12 mm Allen key for the front axle of a 2002 YZ 250. The YZ 250 is a Yamaha dirt bike.
you have a bolt that goes across the top of the rear axle housing and a bolt that goes across the bottom section of the axle carrier, I believe one side is a 14mm and the other side is a 17mm you have to loosen both of those, then there will be 2 long bolts sticking straight back when you are looking at the back of the axle, you have to loosen the 2 nuts at the base of those bolts so you can tighten or loosen the 2 long bolts to loosen or tighten your chain, that will be what adjusts the chain. Be very carefull to not strip any of the bolt heads! Good luck! __________________
Loosen the axle nut and rotate the chain adjuster to the same position on both sides of the swingarm until you obtain the correct chain slack, then tighten the axle nut.
