A heavier grain will usually fly slower but will travel straighter. With Air rifles you have to try a variety of pellets to find the one that the rifle handles best.
Lets talk about pellets. NOT ALL PELLETS are the same. inexpensive pellets will do the job but have a tendency to, How can I put this, NOT land in the same place every time. Why? Because they are not all made to the same tolerances in the same box. that means an off weighted pellet will drift off target. I have some Chinese pellets ( I use them to demonstrate what I mean.) They will fit into the rifle but fly all over the place. Even if I clamp the rifle down. Pellets that perform well will cost a little more, like H&N Pellets. They make a fine "Match Pellet"
I'm going to tag a web link below. Watch the video on the left by "Paul Capello" at the end of the video he talks about Match pellets. I think you will find it helpful.
There is "No" recommended pellet for the model 600. Each pellet has it's particular function. "Waddcutters" are for shooting at targets they make a clean hole in the paper. Hollowpoint pellets are used for rodent control, they mushroom on impact and make a clean kill. Pointed are primarily for distance shooting and Domed are designed as a universal all around pellet.

It all depends on the bore size, and if you really mean GUN as in "gun or rifle." The larges Pellet bore is 50 caliber and that would be a Air Venturi .50 Cal, 275 Grains, Solid Core, Soft Lead, Round Nose pellet. If it's just a pistol it would be a .22 caliber pellet and that would most likely be a Predator Big Boy Senior .22 cal, 28.5 Grains, Domed. Remember air gun/rifle pellets come in all sizes. .177, .20, .22, .25, .9mm, 357mm, .45cal and 50 Cal.
