HDMI cables are manufactured and tested to support all SD and HD formats. There is no cable that is dedicated to a specific format so a cable that handles 1080p will also handle 1080i, 720p and any standard definition format.
An HDMI cable either works or it doesnt. Spending $100 on an HDMI cable is pointless. As long as it supports the Standards you are looking for, 1.3 for regular HDTV up to 1080p, and 1.4 for 3D video, everything will be the same.
You can get any brand. Just make sure the connections are the same. Radio shack has a bunch. But answering your question; no you don't need PS3 issue hdmi.
You need to tell us exactly what your tv has.In all likelihood you won't gain anything by using an HDMI cable with an adaptor. The resolution will still be the same as whatever format it has installed. Most likely this is a 720p TV and it's going to remain a 720p tv whether you use HDMI or whatever you're currently using.Component Video works fine at 720p. anonymous@oola.com
Plug it into your TV with the cable that came with it or if you have a HDTV buy a HDMI cable and plug that into your HDTV and PS3.. Plug the power in and turn it on. You should see it on your TV screen and if not turn your TV to the same input you plugged the PS3 into. Owners of the 720P HDTVs or those without HDMI can buy PS3 component cables with 5 color coded connections that use RCA plugs for the HDTV inputs. Both the HDTV 1080p and 720 HDTV owners can connect with the A/V cable that came with the PS3, but then it will be standard 480i from your PS3
HDMI is currently the best cable that's widely available. The new DisplayPort standard is pretty much the same, but not widely available. After that it's DVI then Component Video Cables.
Yes all hdmi cables are the same
Yes. HDMI is a world wide standard for digital video, however the source component can run at different resolutions and different vertical refresh frequencies. Most American HDMI video sources will output 720p, 1080i or 1080p at 60Hz, while UK sources will be the same resolutions but at 50Hz. Many displays will auto switch when presented with either 50Hz or 60Hz HDMI video inputs, but you would need to check the specification.
All HDMI cables are manufactured to the same standards. If an HDMI cable can physically connect to a device, then it should be compatible. This applies to different variants of Playstations as well as video players.
No, all HDMI cables are created equal and will give you the same high-definition quality regardless of price and there are many inexpensive HDMI cables; there is no reason to pay a lot for an HDMI cable.
Yes will work the same as HDMI, just DVI will not carry audio. DVI is capable of 1080p
Yes. Hdmi cables are all the same. They are not console specific
To use an HDMI cord on the PS3, hook up both the AV multi out cord and the HDMI cord to the TV and turn on the TV to the AV setting. Go to options-display-display options(the first one), and follow the instructions. Once you press "yes" on the confirm settings screen, swith the TV to HDMI mode and see if it works. If it does, unplug the AV out cord on both sides. If it dosen't, refer to the instruction manuals.
