Starting with the 1995 model year of the Ford Explorer the AUTOMATIC transmission was ELECTRONICALLY controlled ( so the answer would be no )
you can on a 2002
No , starting with the 1995 Ford Explorer the automatic transmission was electronically controlled
Probably NOT
No it will not fit. The model generations are (1991-1994) and (1995 - not sure). Today I tried to take a 1995 tailgate and install it on my 1991. The hinges and struts will attach just fine, but the tailgates are not the same size.
motorcraft.com shows 1995 and 1996 ( for the automatic transmission )
Both types of engines will fit into your 1995 Ford Explorer. The engines are basically the same size and share the same motor mounts.
The 1995 is a 4R55E ( electronically controlled transmission ) and the 1991 to 1994 Explorers use an A4LD automatic transmission
1995 was the first year an electronically controlled automatic transmission was used in the Ford Explorer ( I believe it was called the 4R55E ) In the 1992 Ford Explorer an A4LD automatic transmission was used
Sorry NO - I checked on www.motorcraft.com - different part numbers and parts look different
I will not fit. From my understanding every vehicle changes every 4 years. For example (1997-2000) (2001-2004) (2005-2008)
I'm not a mechanic / technician but from what I've read there were ( 3 ) different engine blocks , 1990 to 1994 / 1995 and 1996 / 1997 to 2000 So I would say no
