Ok. Two things here. 2000 was the change up year for Chevy Silverado/Tahoe. If it looks like an 01, 02, and newer, then no. If it looks like your 98, then maybe. If botht rucks look the same, then go to the glove box, and open it. Two numbers you need to check here. G-80, is the code for positraction. If one says G-80, it has it. If one does not, then consider the modification, however it turns out. Next, go to the GT, number. They both should be GT-3, which is 3:73, ratio, which they both will likely be. GT-4, is 4:10's, which would be so if it were a heavy duty model. GT-2, was 3:53 ratio. Again, consider any differences, if any. Then, yes, it will bolt right in.
