NEW ANSWER: SORRY but you are wrong. First place is that the center shaft that runs through the transmission is longer on the 4x4 transmissions so you can install a transfer case on the rear of it. The 2-wheel drive transmissions center shaft is shorter. And most of all is that in late 1999 Chevy redesign all the engines and transmissions and none of them will interchange with anything under 1999. Also the v-6 transmissions won't even bolt up to a V-8 engine.
