no Most of the internals are the same, but the cases changed when GM started using the LS series, gen3 and later engines int he late 90s. I think trucks got the gen3s in 99 or 00 depending on model and cars got them in 98.
Yes as long as the 95 is a 4L60E also. Remember that a 2-wheel and a 4-wheel drive transmission will NOT interchange.
NO. The 4x4 transmission CENTER shaft is longer then the 2-wheel drive tranmission center shaft so the transfur case will fit on it. They WILL NOT INTERCHANGE.
NO. In the late month of 99 chevy REDESIGNED all the engines and transmissions and NOTHING will interchange from 99 down to 1999 and up.
That would be the 4L60E transmission. Nothing under the year 2000 will work in that truck. It must also be a 4-wheel drive transmission. 2 and 4-wheel drive transmissions WILL NOT INTERCHANGE.
If it is a 1/2 ton then it MUST have a 4-wheel drive 4L60E transmission put in it. If it is a 3/4 ton then it MUST have the 4L80E 4-wheel drive transmission put back in it. 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive transmissions are different. They will NOT interchange.
YES they are the SAME transmissions. DIRECT BOLT IN SWAP. Just remember that 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive transmissions will NOT interchange.
Remember this. 2 and 4 wheel drive transmissions are different and will not interchange. Now back to your question. The only transmission that will work in that year is a 1996 or 1997 4L60E because it is a 1/2 ton and the wireing harness and computer is set up for the 4L60E ONLY. The 3/4 tons used the 4L80E in them ONLY.
Well, if it's a Chevy truck, usually a 700R4 will be the type of transmission put in a 1992. Or a 4L60E. - Aaron
NV3500 if a manual, 4L60E if an automatic.
The only 2 years that will interchange with the 1997 is a 1996 and 1997. You MUST put a 4L60E back in it because of the computer system. No other 1 will work.
The ONLY 2 years that will work is 96 and 97 4L60E transmission. If it is a 4-wheel drive then it must be a 4-wheel drive transmission. If it is a 2-wheel drive then it must be a 2-wheel drive transmission. 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive transmissions will not interchange.
No, the rear section is different.
