∙ 14y agoit depends on your major. It also depends on what job or graduate school you are planning to attend.
A 3.4 in more rigorous majors such as Biology, engineering, math etc. is definitely a good gpa.
whereas a 3.4 in certain majors such as sociology, political science, communications etc, is not as stellar, but still decent/good.
In addition, what school you are applying to plays a big picture. 3.4 can get you into many credential programs, some law schools, and almost no medical schools.

That is: you might get into a good college with that GPA, but it's far from guaranteed, and you'd probably have to be pretty exceptional on the other metrics to make up for your mediocre high school grades (compared to the other applicants at a really good college, 3.0 is mediocre at best).
