you can run a 454 big block or a 572 big block as it will fit easily into the engine bay but you will have to use a carburetor and distribuetor to do it and just by-pass the computer.

With a low rise intake, yes. With a high rise, well that depends on how tall of a high rise intake you use. Externally, a 572 is the same size as a 396/427/454, so as long as you don't use an overly tall intake/air cleaner, you should be fine.
