If you subscribe and have an analog TIVO unit, it should.
Only if you new service provides tivo.
Yes, you can connect your tivo to the direct tv receiver.
I just approached this problem, I connected the antenna into the Insignia, an from the Insignia to the Tivo (Series 2), then from the Tivo into the TV. This way I watch Tivo and use the Insignia channels when I change to (Tivo) channel 3. Perhaps not a perfect solution but gives me both of their full capabilites.
The Apple TV is better than Tivo and it is also not provider locked.
Tivo is when you can fast-forward, rewind, and even pause live television. I believe you can get it with any cable company.
No, you will need the remote that goes with the tivo dvr.

talked to TiVo. the series 2 dual tuner will only be able to record what you're watching. So you won't be able to watch TV and record something else at the same time.
Comcast TiVo is used to record television programs. You can also be watching live television and be able to run the program back in case you missed something or wanted to see it again.
