The most likely cause of a ticking sound in a motor is a bad timing belt. A valve out of time can also cause a ticking sound.
Check your motor mounts and what your at it check trans mounts.
high miles, thin oil, bad valve guides, worn piston rings, leaky head gasket, and/ or a leaky PCV valve.
a stuck valve or bad plug or plug wire, or bad cap and rotor to include a cracked or missing vacum hose will make any engine miss.
Several things can cause burning oil. A bad PCV valve can allow oil to be mixed into the fuel and burn. Or the piston rings can be worn and let oil leak pass by. Worn valves can cause this as well. Check the PCV valve, then the engine compression to try and determine the cause.
Um, i wouldn't think so...2If you mean bad valve *seals* then yes. Would be a bad intake valve seal to be specific, is sucking in motor oil and crankcase vapors instead of just clean air and fuel. Smoke would be obvious but for it to actually affect performance it would have to be pretty bad. I'd be more suspicious of that Chrysler 'lean burn' crap... which can cause all kinds of headaches and gremlins.
Poor performance, poor economy, rough idle, lean burn causing valve or piston problems...
A bad PCV valve can cause the engine to smoke. The valve is easy to change in most engines to correct the problem.
no
Bad egr valve or a gummed up throttle plate or a bad idle speed motor, also check forbroken hoses causing a vacuum leak
bad piston rings Excessive engine wear - Rings, Valve guides, Valve seals
