Of course! The heat will eventually cause chemical reactions in the cookie giving off a horrible scent and taste and it will turn black!
Leave it on too long...
When you leave it in the oven too long
The bottoms of the cookies will continue to bake because the cookie sheet will still be hot. If you leave the cookies on the sheet too long after being taken out of the oven, the cookies' bottoms will burn and stick to the baking sheet.
if your cookies are burning that is probably because you are cooking them too long. also maybe if you put that baking spray maybe it would turn out better. that is what happened to me.
If the cooking oil is the primary fat in the cooking, your cookie will not bind together, and it will be really hard after you've baked it. Quite inedible, too.
if you cook it on grill too long
you are cooking it for too long
The oven is too hot or you leave the cakes in too long. The former is more likely.
LCD TVs are inexpensive and have great pictures, but don't leave one on the same channel too long. Images can burn in, ruining the picture forever.
The bottom sheet does not burn because one would be careful not to position the bottom rack too close to the heating element.
If the cookie sheet is on a rack that is too close to the bottom burner then they will burn on the bottom. Move the rack, USE OVEN MITTS !!!, to the middle rack. Also, the temperature on the recipe is suggested. Many ovens vary in temperature. If things are cooking on the outside too fast and the inside is not done yet, turn down the temperature and let them cook a little slower. The heat has to pass through to the center. If it is too hot it will burn the outside before the inside has a chance to cook.
