It's more a function of the pressure tank and pressure switch. -These MUST be set up properly. A badly adjusted or worn pump will still put water in the tank, just at a slower rate. -Any pump should put at least 5 gallons per minute in the tank, or it is ready to be renewed. Most low pressure in house is caused by low air pressure in the tank. You need a well technician to check this system - NOT a plumber.

Could the hot water tank be causing the water pump to be losing pressure?

No. Nothing to do with it. Much more likely there is an air leak between pump and pressure tank, or pressure tank needs a new aircharge.

How do I tell if I need a new pressure control for well water?

If you seem to have unusually low pressure or if your pump is running a lot then you need the system checked by a professional. Not necessarily a plumber.

What are some things that one can do to increase the power of their water pressure?

Two ways, depending if you are on Municipal or your own well. If on Muni supply then there should be a Pressure Regulating Valve somewhere near where the main supply pipe enters your home. This can be adjusted easily and there should be instructions hanging right on it. If you are on a well, there may be a problem with your pressure tank. This tank where the water enters from the pump is a critical part of your system . It should have an 'air charge' of approximately 27-28 psi. If this air charge has gone down, then your water pressure will be lower. If this tank is very old, possibly silver or green in color, then it's a "galv tank' and is possibly 'waterlogged'. This means you have to recharge the air with a compressor (just like blowing up an auto tire) To do this, switch off the pump. Open a faucet near the tank and let most of the water out. When you think it's nearly empty, close the valve to house and pump in with the compressor till the needle on your tank gauge points to 27. Now switch on the pump and the pressure should be improved. -IF your tank is a pale blue one, then chances are it's a 'bladder' tank and low pressure means your bladder is leaking. -You can pump it just as I said already, but in this case it will only last 2-3 months. You basically need a new tank.

Chevy 350 electric water pump extra hole on the passenger front side of the block where the water pump mounts there is another non threaded hole under the bottom water pump bolt hole.?

I have had a problem with my engine overheating and then suddenly cooling off when first started up after the thermost had closed or was closed, and found that the stop leak I had used to seal up my leaky heater core until I replaced it was the problem. I was informed that it had gotten in the water pump at what I was told was the pressure bleed off (The extra water hole on the passenger side of the pump/block and was causing enough pressure to hold the thermostat closed until enough pressure on the other side of the thermostat therefore relieving the pressure holding it closed. I went through everything, and found the problem fixed after cleaning out the hole with compressed air ?? crazy but it worked. PS. New engine, new radiator, 3 new thermostats new heater core, left only the water pump wich was new but reused for rebuild. I did however not have the cooling problem until I used the leak sealer on the old engine with new water pump then the problem started. I will never use that stuff again !!!

How do you replace the water pump on a 1991 Nissan 240SX?

i cant fully answer this question but first you should purchase a repair manual. i know when relacing a water pump you must first disconect the negative connection from the battery, release the pressure and drain the coolant. next you must remove the radiator ,coolant fan and any other things that inhibit the removal of the water pump. remember to purchase the new water pump with a new gasket included. and you will need silicone to seal the water pump when replacing. that's basic hope it helps
