an abuser will abuse for any reason, and believe me, they can find a reason no matter how hard you try to keep the peace. abuse is abuse and they won't stop because you are being "good". what kind of life is it to be passive towards someone just to keep the peace? contact your local domestic abuse shelter to find out the answers, warning signs and how to get out. If you are in this situation, I can only say that verbal abuse usually leads to more aggressive abuse in the future, and abusers don't need a reason to abuse.

I just got out of a relationship like that. He would verbally abuse me and make me feel like crap. He's not going to think he has problems when everyone else knows that he does.
