I was talking to a Vietnamese just last week and I found his militant attitude to this crisis quite a shock. He was even prepared to drop his business affairs here in Malaysia and return to Vietnam to enlist in a war with China. The Vietnamese I've met recently are really up in arms over the South China Sea claims by China.
I hope it won't ever come down to a shooting war, as that would throw the entire region into a reverse of all the economic progress they've made this decade
