Any leak will change the way the engine breathes. Any change can change the air/fuel mixture. If it changes enough it can cause damage.

What is a manifold leak?

A manifold leak is usually in reference to a failure of the intake manifold gasket. It can leak air, oil or coolant. It can leak to the outside of the engine or internally into the engine. A manifold leak may also refer to the Exhaust manifold that is leaking exhaust fumes from a bad gasket or a crack in the manifold.

Is it hard to fix a manifold leak on 351 ford engine?

is it hard to fix a manifold leak on a 351 ford engine

Can a crack in a manifold cause an oil leak?

The answer is yes. A crack in a manifold is much worse than just the oil leak. Manifold cracks are generally caused by severe overheating or improper assembly of parts. A crack in a manifold can cause oil to leak but the oil leak is inconsequential as the crack renders the engine unusable safely, without replacing the manifold. Running an engine with a cracked manifold is very bad for the rest of the engine and your own safety.

What does it mean if my engine is smoking?

Overheated, exhaust leak, oil leak on manifold-hard to speculate

What happens if you do not change a bad intake manifold gasket on a 2000 ford explorer?

If it is an internal leak the coolant will end up in the crank case mixed with your oil and it will ruin the bearing/engine - if external leak then the engine will overheat when it runs low on coolant, and blow your head gasket

What happens with an exhaust manifold leak?

The leak can be from a cracked manifold, or from a bad gasket where it attaches directly to the engine. This leak is before the O2 sensor, so gives a false reading and may remain undetected. This is a serious issue! Exhaust leak from the manifold will allow the harmful CO2 emissions to enter the cabin. Exhaust leak will also cause decreased performance of your engine, and decreased fuel economy.

Can a vacuum leak at the manifold cause the check engine light to come on?

Yes

Why does the GM 350 engine have coolant flowing around the intake manifold?

you have a coolant leak

The intake gasket have anything to do with the car overhearing?

ya, especially if you are leaking antifreeze internally or externally. if intake manifold gasket leaks usually have vacuum problem result in "rough engine idle" look for external antifreeze leak at manifold gasket first. then check oil for "milky color" - if antifreeze runs low due to leak = Yes - engine overheat. Dont drive it - you can do a lot more damage if you do.

Will bars intake manifold stop leak work on Oldsmobile Silhouette 3.4 engine?

You need to replace the manifold and use Felpro Gaskets.

Will a leaking lower intake manifold gasket ruin a engine?

It is possible if the leak is a "internal leak" - where the coolant is leaking inside the motor and mixing with the oil it will ruin the motor. This will eventually cause bearing failure. If it is an external leak - as long as you keep the coolant full and watch your temp gauge, you can get by for a while. Keep in mind - the leak will only get worse as time goes on.

You have water leeking from between head and intake manifold near timing cover side does manifold have gasket or is there core plug behind manifold?

I can tell you if your vehicle is a GM, it has a gasket, and it blows out, and you need to replace the gaskets as soon as possible. Hopefully the leak is only external because if engine coolant leaks internally it will do serious damage quickly.
