change the fluid after finding where the water comes from water will cause rust in the transmission if left in
Transmission fluid, if you have a bad radiator.
on the left side (driver side) you have those transmission line the go in the radiator, the bottom one tends to rust alot.
Look underneath the car. Is it super clean around the rear of transmission and a little ways down drive shaft? If so, you may need to replace the extension housing gasket and bushings. The piece that contains these parts is at the rear of the transmission where the driveshaft connects. Over time this thing can start leaking pretty good. Fluid will be slung by the driveshaft onto the underside of the car. The high detergent value of transmission fluid will "clean" off the underside of your car, including the factory corrosion resistant coating! be sure to recoat underbody after repair or rust will destroy your ride. Be thorough with the inspection because trans fluid can get in some unexpected areas.
Rust flakes away from metal because its a layer of loose material. The metal underneath is no longer protected and will begin to rust also.
red water, i can think of two possabilities, rust, but that would not be exactly red. 2 a leak in your transmission cooler that runs through the bottom of the radiator. transmission fluid is usually red. a leak here would get into your cooling system.
The ingredients and amounts vary greatly based on the type and brand. You would need to look up a MSDS(Material Safety Data sheet). Generaly about 95% of it is the base stock( Made from petroleum). And lastly, it is about 5% additives for cleaning, rust protection, extreme pressure, anti scuff, viscosity modafiers, red dye and anti slip.

well if the shilin is rusy put it in lime and the rust will go away. why? Because the lime acts like an acid to the rust which cases the rust to go away.
Rust, most likely.
Brake fluid does collect moisture. If you've never changed the brake fluid in your system, it probably has moisture in it and yes, it can rust the lines from the inside out.
If thermostat is faulty and engine does not reach operating temp and stay at operating temp for a period of time it will not steam away condensation . Or too many short trips !!!
