It uses brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir. The clutch fluid (brake fluid) is fed by the brake fluid reservoir. The clutch fluid reservoir is just beneath the brake fluid reservoir. So, add fluid to the brake fluid reservoir to fill the clutch fluid, also.
NO. Brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it adsorbs water. It is also petroleum based. If yours is low you either have a leak somewhere, it is time for a brake job because friction material is worn down letting pistons or wheel cylinders travel farther out of their bores, or it was never the right level to start with.
Yes. Normal brake fluid is actually synthetic
It is important to maintain the brake fluid levels in a car. The brake fluid type for a 2002 Grand AM is DOT 3 brake fluid.
Only brake fluid can be used for brake fluid. Brake fluid is a glycol-based liquid - it's closer to antifreeze than to oil, but don't use antifreeze in it either. Only brake fluid.
oil will not evaporate as quickly as hydraulic fluid even though hydraulic fluid does not evaporate easily therefore you will not have to change the oil as often
The brake system uses brake fluid and the trans uses trans fluid.
Locate the brake fluid reservoir, and pour brake fluid in until it's at the appropriate level.

Yes.
Yes. But it is really important to find out WHY the reservoir is only half-full! Brake fluid doesn't evaporate as fast as water and anyway, if the reservoir cap was fully tight - so it couldn't spill out - it won't just evaporate away so there must a leak somewhere in one or more of your brake pipes or brake cylinders. If you don't get it fixed, every time you press the brake pedal some brake fluid will be forced out through a hole in the brake pipe or out past the seals in one of your brake cylinders (or wherever the leak is) and you could suddenly run out of brake fluid and your brakes won't work any more. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! So by all means top it up with more of the right brake fluid - you must find out which type is right for your braking sytem - but also be sure to take your vehicle to a repair workshop to ask them to look for the leak. Brake inspections are usually done free of charge, so go and have one done today. Getting an inspection and any necessary brake repairs done could save your life and/or someone else's life if you were to suddenly find you can't stop because your brakes have stopped working!
Good question. At the brake fluid resovoir
