Almost all cars will run with the battery disconnected. They have a generator that will produce enough electricity to keep the vehicle running.
-----------------
However, DO NOT RUN THE CAR WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED you run a serious risk of destroying your ECM, the main computer in your car. You can also destroy your electronic dash. Without the battery, there is no load and the alternator is free to overcharge and destroy anything and everything electrical on the car. Yes, it is possible to run the car on alternator only, but it is a very bad idea....DONT DO IT.
Battery is disconected
If the alternator is computer regulated it may not run with battery disconnected. The alt. may be good, but the wires to it are open/shorted.
You do not have to reset the computer. The ECU will take care of itself and there is nothing you have to do but drive the car.
Yes - you can run a 1200 watt motor on a car battery - until the energy of the battery is exhausted.
gas or a battery charged car makes a car run.
-- Answer -- The battery in a car runs ALL the electrical systems in that car. The alternator only charges the battery. If you run a car without the battery in place you will ruin the alternator. Phil
Its likely either the battery connections (terminals) are dirty, or where they connect is...or the battery while showing a charge is bad when on a load. If it starts with a jump from another car...it's the battery.
The car light? YES! Leaving your car light on WILL make your battery run out. Things like leaving your car door open if the light is on because it is open will cause the lgiht to Mae your car battery run out. There is a big difference between shorted out a car battery and running the battery down. Lighting in itself won't short a battery out but will run it down.
Golf cart.
No, the battery supplies the energy to run the car.
The car boosting should run for ten minutes or so. The car with the dead battery will need to be charged for 8 hrs with a battery charger, but as long as the battery is good a 1hr run will likely allow the car to start again.
one is run by petrol and one is run by batteries...?
